Direct answer
How does this 3D text generator work?
Modelfy builds real extruded text geometry locally in your browser. Enter up to 32 Latin letters or numbers, adjust the font, depth, bevel, and color, then download the result as GLB, OBJ, or STL without uploading your text.
How to create 3D text
- 01
Enter your text
Type up to 32 Latin letters or numbers and choose the regular or bold Helvetiker font.
- 02
Shape the geometry
Adjust extrusion depth and bevel while the browser rebuilds the live 3D preview.
- 03
Download a 3D file
Export GLB for web workflows, OBJ for broad editing support, or STL for a geometry-only printing workflow.
Current browser support
Limits to know before opening the file
- The bundled fonts cover Latin letters, numbers, and common punctuation; CJK and other writing systems are not included yet.
- OBJ and STL do not preserve the selected display color in this browser exporter. GLB retains the material color.
- STL has no built-in unit metadata, so confirm the model scale in your slicer before printing.
Practical workflows
When this format is a useful fit
- 01Create labels, signs, logos, and title geometry for a web or game scene.
- 02Download an STL starting point for nameplates, tags, or other 3D-printable typography.
- 03Export editable OBJ geometry for further modeling in Blender or another DCC tool.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 3D text generator free?
Yes. The typography tool runs in your browser without an account, credits, or a paid export step.
Is my text uploaded to a server?
No. The text geometry and downloadable files are generated on this device. The tool does not upload the words you enter.
Which 3D formats can I download?
You can download GLB, OBJ, or STL. Use GLB when you need the selected material color, OBJ for broad mesh compatibility, and STL for geometry-only printing workflows.
Can I use Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters?
Not in the current version. The two bundled Helvetiker fonts support Latin letters, numbers, and common punctuation. Unsupported characters are rejected with a clear message instead of being replaced by incorrect geometry.

From a single image to a production-ready 3D model
These browser tools stay free for viewing and converting files you already have. When the model does not exist yet, Modelfy generates a textured mesh from one reference image — the first one is free.
