Polygon File Format

The Polygon File Format (also called the Stanford Triangle Format) was designed to store scanned 3D data. It supports per-vertex properties such as color and normals, in both ASCII and binary encodings.

Is my SVG model file uploaded to a server?

Will I lose quality converting SVG to PLY?

Filled SVG paths are extruded into new 3D geometry, so sharp vector outlines are preserved while strokes, filters, animation, and other non-filled effects may be omitted. The result is an extrusion of the artwork rather than an identical copy of every SVG feature.

Is the SVG to PLY converter free to use?

What is the maximum file size?

Why does my SVG produce no 3D model?

Only filled shapes can be extruded. SVGs that contain just strokes (outlines with no fill) have no area to extrude — open the file in a vector editor and convert strokes to filled paths first.

Does the tool keep the vertex colors of my PLY file?

Yes. If your PLY contains per-vertex colors, the viewer displays them, and conversions to formats that support vertex colors (like PLY and GLB) preserve them.
